Chanel’s second luxury watch, the Matelasse, is born. The unadorned square face, which is incorporated into the simple lines of the bracelet, make it an instant classic.
Chanel premiers the J12 movement, and its first true line of haute horlogerie watches is born. ‘Exceptional’, art and jewellery pieces follow, including openworked flying tourbillon models and delicately paved ‘secret cuff’ watches, hidden inside breathtaking works of Chanel jewellery.
Chanel and Audemars Piguet combine to create the AP 3125 ceramic calibre. The AP 3125 movement is incorporated into Chanel’s J12 line.
